This incumbent supports the day-to-day activities related to space planning and project coordination initiatives in leased and owned office and support space facilities for NYCT. The incumbent will manage turn-key project solutions from space programming, the establishment of project budgets, space allocation planning, and layouts, interior design, and material & product specification.
The preparation of construction documents for office renovations; and, the project management and implementation of office renovations through move coordination planning and post-occupancy tenant management.
This position supports agency reorganizations, consolidations, and the application of universal planning standards. The incumbent will be responsible for: the study, evaluation, and analysis of office space utilization and support facility needs of New York City Transit and MTA Agencies. Travel to all 5 boroughs for site meetings as needed.
Education and Experience
Architects I, II & III
A valid New York State Registration as an Architect. Current New York State Registration as an Architect must be maintained for the duration of your employment.
In addition to the above qualifications requirements, to be eligible for placement in Assignment Levels II and III, individuals must have at least one year within the last three years of experience as a major contributor or a project leader on a complex project requiring additional and specific expertise in the disciplines needed to design or construct the project.
In-depth knowledge of office facilities planning, programming, general design & construction process, building codes, and modular/conventional office furniture systems. Review and analysis of construction proposals, experience with leveling bids, and construction administration. Proficient in AutoCAD, Excel, Access, and MS Project.
Knowledge and experience with Facility & Space Management applications such as Archibus ImagineIt. Must have good communication skills when working with client representatives during the design phase of any project. Strong work ethic and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously independently as a project manager.

The appointment may be at a comparable level to the current level of the selected candidate. As an employee of MTA NYC Transit, you may be required to complete an annual financial disclosure statement with the state of New York, if your position earns more than $101,379 (this is subject to change) per year or if the position is designated as a policy maker.
