We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Temp Part Time Physiotherapist to join Dr. Hogg/Weatherby Pavilions – Peace Arch Hospital located in White Rock, BC. The schedule is Wednesday to Friday from 08:00 am-04:00 pm. This position is available until OR until the return of the incumbent.

Responsibilities

  • Provides clinical physiotherapy treatment, including, assessment, problem identification, setting treatment goals, treatments, and re-evaluation of patients/residents.
  • Educates patients/residents and their families in aspects of physiotherapy treatment.
  • Obtains patient/resident history from charts, interviews, and observations, as well as information provided at patent/resident conferences and team meetings.
  • As a member of the interdisciplinary team, makes recommendations for treatment, to ensure quality patient/resident care.
  • Delegates components of treatment to Assistants/Aides by instructing, observing, and monitoring treatment provided to ensure quality patient/resident care.
  • Provides input to the Clinical Practice Chief  / Professional Practice Leader, Physiotherapy for the performance evaluation of the Assistants/Aides
  • Promotes awareness of good body mechanics to facility staff, patients/residents, and families by methods such as modeling, making presentations, and acting as a resource to staff, patients/residents, and/or families by providing information and answering questions related to physiotherapy.
  • Maintains patient/resident records, clinical outcome measures, and statistical data in accordance with department, facility, and professional standards.
  • Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the physiotherapy service by providing input and feedback to the Professional Practice Chief / Professional Practice Leader, Physiotherapy regarding philosophy, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, continuous quality improvement, and risk management.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary, departmental, and professional development to ensure awareness of current developments in evidence-based physiotherapy practice.
  • Provides instruction, feedback, and supervision to students as required.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications

Graduation from an approved program in Physiotherapy. Current full registration with the College of Physical Therapists of BC (CPTBC). Eligible for membership in the Physiotherapy Association of British Columbia (PABC).

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the College of Physical Therapists of British Columbia standards for the practice of physical therapy.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively deal with conflict situations.
