Overview

GitHub is looking for a Presentation Designer to partner who will closely collaborate with our senior leadership team and executive communications partners in conceptualizing, designing, and developing internal and external presentations, along with projects such as refining iconography, illustration, and layout. This role serves as a key ambassador for the GitHub brand that is known and loved by developers around the world.

As a Presentation Designer at GitHub, you’ll work directly with company spokespeople and communications leads to creatively translate narratives into clear, compelling, and visually interesting presentations. You’re passionate about setting the bar high and maintaining excellence in all aspects of your work, from communication to production. You have a breadth of understanding about business marketing collateral creation, graphic design, design systems, and translating complex messaging and stories into elegant and easy-to-understand visuals.

Our ideal applicant is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and, above all, proactive. Your portfolio demonstrates a solid grasp and mastery of layout, hierarchy, color usage, typography, infographics, and animations/transitions. We look for Presentation Designers with excellent communication skills, an ability to stay nimble and responsive to ever-evolving requests, respect for confidentiality of highly sensitive information, an understanding of creative methods and thinking, empathy for the needs of all stakeholders, and strong project management skills to ensure projects ship as planned.


Responsibilities
  • Partner with stakeholders and design/communications leads to understand goals and target audience and establish a visual strategy for impactful stories.
  • Develop patterns, illustrations, iconography, infographics and other graphic assets to create visually compelling decks and brand internal programs.
  • Use GitHub’s design system and brand guidelines to create and ensure consistency across our company presentations from company town halls, executive keynote presentations, and sales and product decks.
  • Ensure compelling design production under tight timelines.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects and stakeholders.

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years experience in presentation design, graphic design, UI/UX, web-design, or any other design or creative field either in a professional or freelancing capacity.
  • Experience working with multiple design and presentation tools, displaying deep familiarity with Figma, Illustrator, Photoshop, Google Slides, PowerPoint, and Keynote
  • Experience working with executive key stakeholders, and/or collaborating simultaneously with multiple clients in freelance or contractor roles

Preferred Qualification:
  • An understanding of UX/UI principles or insight into Design Thinking
  • Proficiency in animation using tools like Adobe After Effects or Animate
  • A strong ability for systems thinking, optimizing processes for maximum efficiency
  • Excel in juggling multiple tasks, you can adeptly manage various projects with distinct deadlines, showcasing your prioritization skills

Minimum salary of $58,800 to maximum $156,000

In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee’s role.

These pay ranges are intended to cover roles based across the United States. An individual’s base pay depends on various factors including geographical location and review of experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant. At GitHub certain roles are eligible for benefits and additional rewards, including annual bonus and stock. These rewards are allocated based on individual impact in role.
