💬 Why this role now?

Our product team is ~10 engineers, 3 QAs, 1 PM (Tj), 2 designers (Valentin, Russ), and our founders (Pulkit & Brian). We are building the best product in our category and are shipping great functionality, (see this or our LinkedIn page) but we want to go even faster 🚀

We are concurrently hiring a second PM, and expect that with this we’ll be able to build two pods of work (core and growth/new) with our designers supporting work across projects and themes.

We raised a Series A last year after years of bootstrapping with sustained growth, so are in a financially strong position. We have never conducted layoffs and believe in thoughtful hiring.

📝 What to expect from the hiring process

🌈 Chameleons are all different and uniquely beautiful. They change and aren’t required to associate or identify with any specific labels. We welcome the chance to get to know you and are committed to building a diverse and inclusive team that consists of a variety of backgrounds, cultures, languages, experiences, preferences, and characteristics. That’s what helps us all grow and evolve.

Our hiring process is crafted to give us a chance to experience collaborating (in a lightweight manner), represent how we actually work (to show you what it’ll be like) and to de-emphasize “interviewing” as a skill (writing is more important than talking for us):

  1. Application (~20 mins; form below) This is a Typeform with questions that extend beyond submitting your resume. We aim to make it engaging and resemble aspects of the job. It will also mean we can make the process quicker!
  2. First interview (45 mins)We’ll begin to get to know each other and give you space to ask questions you have. The goal is to assess work style dynamics and communication.
  3. Second Interview/White-boarding activity (60 mins) We’ll collaborate on design exercise during a live call so you can see whether it’d be fun to collaborate with us, and we can show you a little more about how we operate.
  4. Paid project (8-12 hours over 1-2 weeks; depending on your availability) We will collaborate on a well-scoped and real design project to help us all assess what it’s like to work together. We will pay a fair hourly rate for this.

Offer 🎉 If we all enjoy working together and make good progress on the exercise, we’ll be in a position to make you a full-time offer (pending references as necessary).

We like to move quickly and our goal is to move from First interview to Paid project within 2 weeks. Once we get to offer, we’d love for you to start as soon as possible.

🐥 Onboarding

Just a note to communicate that we invest in our new teammate onboarding as much as our recruiting process:

  • We create a customized and structured Onboarding doc corresponding to your Day 1, Week 1, Month 1 periods.
  • You’ll have a buddy (for non-functional questions) and a coach (for function specific needs) to seek help from.
  • There will be regular check-ins to ensure you’re getting up to speed.
  • Early on, you will “pair” as well as have your own independent work (e.g. enhancements to existing functionality) as you gain confidence to take on new projects end-to-end.

You will receive continued support from a team that cares deeply about your success. 🤗
