Jobs in Birmingham Hiring Immediately, As the Lead Engineer for our site in Birmingham, you will be responsible for maintaining automation equipment in the branch ensuring that they run to optimum efficiency and in accordance with guidelines. You will support equipment reliability and work to improve performance where possible, ensuring all planned maintenance and corrective work is completed in a timely manner.

This role will also have facilities management duties such as managing HSE risks on site in line with policies and procedures, managing contractors, and ensuring legal compliance. There will be opportunities to work in project management and you will work toward targets to enable the team to deliver departmental KPIs. There is no additional travel involved in this role and parking on site. The skills and experience you will gain from this job opportunity are a great way for you to develop into an Engineering Manager position.

About You

The ideal applicant will possess a recognized engineering apprenticeship and/or HNC in an engineering discipline, ideally with experience within a distribution (supply chain warehouse), manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or FMCG environment. A large part of the role will be managing the automation so experience of this and an electrical bias or electromechanical would be beneficial.

We are looking for an individual that can work on their own initiative, with a positive can-do attitude. As a critical thinker, you will be able to problem solve, work well with others, and have a desire to achieve results. An H&S qualification IOSH or NEBOSH general certificate and an inspection & Testing qualification would also be desirable for this role too.
