Weekend Jobs NYC, Career and technical education (CTE) teachers provide training in subjects such as auto repair, cosmetology, and culinary arts. They teach vocational and technical content to give students the skills and knowledge necessary to enter an occupation.

Career and Technical Education (CTE) has become increasingly popular across the United States as more people realize how crucial CTE is to the country. Yet, many people remain unsure of what exactly “career and technical education” is.

The Research Foundation of The City University of New York (RFCUNY) was established as a not-for-profit educational corporation chartered by the State of New York in 1963.RFCUNY stands between CUNY’s principal investigators (PIs) and the sponsors who support them and strives to fulfill its essential responsibilities to both groups.

RFCUNY supports CUNY faculty and staff in identifying and obtaining external support (pre-award) from government and private sponsors and is responsible for the administration of all such funded programs (post-award).

Working closely with individual PIs and Grants Officers on the campuses, RFCUNY oversees employment, accounting, audit, reporting, purchasing, and special responsibilities that include management of a planned giving program; liaison with governmental agencies and foundations.

Negotiation of agreements; facility construction and renovation; protection and commercialization of intellectual property; and compliance with applicable standards in research involving human subjects, animal care, environmental and radiological safety, and conflicts of interest.


  • Provide assistance to students, faculty, and staff
  • Monitor and report classroom attendance
  • Answer general questions regarding Evening/Weekend and Off-Site Programs as well as college-wide inquiries
  • Complete general clerical duties
  • Distribute flyers and promote events
  • Ensure all classrooms are operational in accordance with BMCC’s policies and procedures
  • Assist students with interpreting their DegreeWorks audit information
  • Perform other duties as assigned


  • The ideal candidate must demonstrate excellent interpersonal, oral, writing, and organizational skills and the ability to work with students, faculty, and staff of diverse backgrounds.
  • The candidate must also have strong analytical, computer, and problem-solving skills, as well as be capable of working independently or as part of a team to complete projects in a timely manner.
  • Knowledge of CUNYfirst and DegreeWorks is preferable.
  • Must be detailed-oriented, flexible, and able to work remotely if necessary.
  • Proficient with MS Office products and familiar with current technology i.e. social media
